Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment
Mid Devon District Council published their Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment showing land that has been made available for development within the Mid Devon region. Going forward the decision will be made which of these sites will be included in the new Mid Devon Local Plan.

Appendix 3C – East – Sampford Peverell 2026
The Parish Council recently met with Mid Devon District Council and other parishes in the vicinity of the A361 link road and Junction 27 to discuss the Government’s housing targets. The Government is keen to build houses close to good transport links and Sampford Peverell is close to the M5 and has Tiverton Parkway within its boundaries.
The Parish Council believes that infrastructure must come before new houses are built which includes:
roads and access to the link road and M5
parking at Tiverton Parkway
sewage facilities and river pollution
schools, doctor’s surgeries, dentists, leisure facilities and paths and cycle routes.
