Parish Magazine
Information about the parish mag
To contact us, please email: parishmag@sampfordpeverell.org.uk
The parish magazine is independently produced each month by a group of local volunteers. Magazines are delivered to 485 households in the two parishes and are also on sale at the start of each month in Sampford Peverell Spar Shop.
We aim to include news which is relevant to everyone in Sampford Peverell and Uplowman as well as to publish notices of local activities and events.
News Articles and Notices
We rely on local people to provide us with information, news articles and notices and to present this to us in an interesting and readable form.
If you see something newsworthy, out of the ordinary, have a point of view or life story you are willing to share, then put this into writing and send to us. We encourage and welcome news articles which are short, topical and readable – and if you can provide a picture, all the better.
News MUST reach us by no later than 19th of the preceding month.
Newsworthy articles (max 2 pages) are always welcome, particularly if accompanied by good quality photographs or graphics. Max of 300 words per page please (fewer with pictures). We do not include advertising posters in the magazine but are happy to promote your event in the highlights or a relevant section.
Please note: All articles may be edited subject to space availability and at the discretion of the editors.
Please email all articles, advertising, comment or queries to:
parishmag@sampfordpeverell.org.uk
Use of photographs
Any photographs submitted for publication must be provided with the permission of everyone shown and, where appropriate, by parents and/or guardians. Photographs will be used in both printed and digital format or online use. Without permission, images cannot be published.
Subscriptions and Advertising
The magazine is published 12 times a year. We currently have a print run of 535 copies and 485 subscribers covering 75% of households in the two parishes.
Our annual subscription charge for 2022 is £7.20 per year (60p per issue) which represents a 40% saving on the magazine cover price of £1. Non-subscribers can purchase the magazine at the start of each month from the SPAR shop in Sampford Peverell.
For information on advertising rates, please contact any of the editors (below) or email us on parishmag@sampfordpeverell.org.uk.

Distribution and Subscriptions

About 500 magazines are distributed to households in Sampford Peverell and Uplowman every month. This is managed by Alan Saxon who is responsible for delivering magazines and collecting subscriptions along with a team of 20 neighbourhood distributers.
If you are interested in subscribing and receiving the magazine every month, contact Alan, either by phone or via the magazine email address.
Editors
We currently have three co-editors, one of whom takes responsibility each month to edit and produce the magazine. Not only does this spread the workload, but we hope it also gives a varied approach to content.
All content for the magazine should be sent by email to parishmag@sampfordpeverell.org.uk, but if you have any specific queries, please call one of us.

Cover graphics

Local graphic designer, Leigh Jackson has been freely producing the inspirational and sometimes controversial covers for the Magazine since January 2017. His designs are vivid and topical, and good for coffee morning discussions!
If you are interested in Leigh’s art and graphic design skills, he would be delighted to hear from you (leighjackson@gmx.co.uk or text / call on 07952 654666)
